Barkha Mehta (Malpani)- Emotions Redefined!: Shhhh…Silence

Barkha Mehta (Malpani)- Emotions Redefined!: Shhhh…Silence

Shhhh…Silence

Silence is a less known emotion…
Often taken only in negation
Well, its nature is unique full of complexity
Some seemed to have mastered this art; for some still a mystery.
Borrows attributes of water creates its path
Sometimes soothing sometimes sign of wrath
Is it a welcome solace, a much needed hush?
For sometimes it’s important to take a halt, not rush.
Not sure for sometimes it feels like lonely soul waiting to befriend,
Who has been hit and has reached an end.

Sometimes mistaken for attitude, anger and ego
Denied benefit of doubt; what if one is struggling to let go?
This curious mind digs deeper than required
And in this quest the mind writes and overwrites and gets tired
It asks is it anger, pain, defeat, helplessness or a weapon of the witty.
Or is it acceptance, failure, deep thought, spaced out, victory…?
Is it a cry of silence hard to hear? Muffled loud screams?
Or a misunderstood soul, sign of shattered dreams.
A zone entered to make others realize a hollow
But seldom understood because it’s hard to follow

True that muteness, uncommunicativeness can miscommunicate too
But maybe that’s why it’s a dagger famous with few
Curious and confused myself if it’s a wise tool
Friend of the intelligent and unknown to fool
As my quest for the meaning of silence is still on
For now I have some idea of conquering it and to hold on
It sure is beautiful if you can decode the mute whisper
It won’t tear you apart it actually brings hearts closer
For people sometimes draw this iron curtain
Yeah sure not an easy job to break this dead air for certain
But for someone who cares and understand real deep chances are fair
May be it sometimes means nothing more than a heart & mind- hide & seek affair
The nature of this calm will always be as difficult as its now, so let it unfold
yeah looks like there is some truth in the saying ‘Speech is silver silence is gold’
