This one is on Soldiers written when I was in class 9th ... Just found this in one of my old books and thought I will put it up..Nice to see how I have matured as a poet!
Some say, some do , some die,
Saluting the brave soldiers ain't I?
A mighty march to serve their mother
When one dies comes forward another.
Leaving behind the young and the old
These iron men appear too bold
Their courage, sacrifice & passion can never fade
Life so precious they offer with pride in a parade
When we burst crackers they fire
When our eyes twinkle theirs Splutter
When we sprinkle colors they pour out blood
When we celebrate new year they count the dead
Salute to the mother who is sending her son to the battleground?
The wife who has married him not knowing how long he will be around?
The little kid who has given dad a list of what to get along when he is back
Buddies who wait for him to narrate over a toast the stories of enemies attack
Worth more than a salute, a medal and then a forever forgotten story
They all deserve a special place in the books of history.
We are all born to live life and one fine day die
But not all see death like they do in the eye
For a fearless, unselfish service that you provide God bless you.
May death turn its route and enemies fear you
All hearts you have swept
Marching all through left, right, left...
